MSian Zara Ahmed Declared Winner in “Doyens of Peace” Video Competition
MS Junior College student Zara Ahmed has brought laurels to India by winning the National Video Competition held under the first-ever South Asian Commemoration of Doyens of Peace.
SAARC-Wide Contest with 198 Participants
The prestigious contest invited entries from students across eight SAARC nations — Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan, and India. A total of 198 students showcased their self-created videos. With 109 participants, India had the highest representation, and among them, Zara Ahmed’s creative vision stood out, securing her the first place at the national level.
Theme: Vision for South Asia’s Future
Participants were asked to reflect on the theme: “If I were the President or Prime Minister of my country, what would be my vision for South Asia?”
The young competitors expressed their views on peace-building, environmental protection, regional cooperation, and development possibilities through 2–5 minute videos.
Zara’s Winning Message
Zara’s presentation earned special praise for its unique and innovative perspective. In her video, she stressed that the youth of South Asia hold the key to shaping a peaceful and prosperous future. She highlighted the importance of confidence-building, environmental collaboration, and policy dialogue as essential steps forward.
Felicitation Ceremony
To honor her achievement, a formal award ceremony was organized on 13th September 2025 at MS Education Academy’s Corporate Office in Hyderabad. Renowned social activist and Doyens of Peace patron Lalitha Ramdas (wife of Admiral Ramdas) presented Zara with a cash prize of ₹15,000 and a certificate of honor.
