In a groundbreaking achievement, two talented students from MS Creative School, Syeda Sara Tahoor and Abubaker Siddiq Madani, have emerged as stars in the prestigious Young Innovators Program at the renowned CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) in Hyderabad. This transformative program, which took place from January 4th to January 13th, 2023, aimed to ignite a passion for science and innovation among young minds and inspire them to push the boundaries of knowledge.

Syeda Sara Tahoor and Abubaker Siddiq Madani embarked on an awe-inspiring scientific journey under the mentorship of esteemed scientists and researchers at CCMB. The selection process began with a rigorous screening test encompassing subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and general aptitude. Their exceptional performance propelled them into the next phase of the program, where they joined a select cohort of only 25 students out of over 200 applicants.

During their tenure at CCMB, our brilliant students were immersed in a multitude of captivating activities, experiments, and thought-provoking discussions with experts. They were granted the exclusive opportunity to explore various labs across the three sprawling campuses of CCMB, each dedicated to cutting-edge research in fields such as cell biology, genetics, infectious disease biology, structural biology, and ecology and conservation biology. Witnessing firsthand the groundbreaking discoveries and technological advancements in the field of life sciences proved to be an exhilarating experience for our students.

The Young Innovators Program at CCMB was designed to provide not only theoretical knowledge but also hands-on learning experiences. Syeda Sara Tahoor and Abubaker Siddiq Madani acquired practical expertise in a wide range of scientific techniques, including cell culturing, DNA extraction, electrophoresis, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). These activities not only enhanced their laboratory skills but also deepened their understanding of the intricate workings of life sciences.

Reflecting on her journey, Syeda Sara Tahoor shared her excitement, stating, “My time at CCMB was an incredible learning adventure. I had the privilege to explore various state-of-the-art laboratories, delve into the intricacies of stem cells, learn about endangered species conservation, and even delve into the realm of entrepreneurship in life sciences. This program has ignited a fiery passion within me for biotechnology and the immense power of scientific research.”

Adding to the conversation, Abubaker Siddiq Madani expressed, “My experience at CCMB will forever be etched in my memory. Working with fascinating model organisms like Zebrafish and Drosophila to unravel the mysteries of microbial genetics and cell culturing has provided me with invaluable insights into the world of life sciences. I am truly grateful for this remarkable opportunity, which has fueled my determination to pursue a career in scientific research.”

Waseem Nuzhat, the dedicated science teacher at MS Creative School, conveyed her immense pride and gratitude, saying, “I extend my heartfelt thanks to the staff members and parents who have played a pivotal role in granting this exceptional opportunity to our talented students.
